Here's the only shot I ended up with that was ok. A bit of post-processing makes it a lot better than the original. The horizon is in the centre, which goes against the rule-of-thirds. Luckily that's only a rule, and rules make for boring photography :) I prefer it in the middle in this shot, so that's were it is :)

Sunset at the beach
I wanted to get out on the long weekend and get a sunrise shoot in, so pencilled in Tuesday. It's the sort of thing that sounds like an awesome idea a week beforehand, but not so good on Tuesday morning at 430am. Having missed that, I went at night instead as Dave asked me along to a spot he wanted to shoot. On the way, the sun was setting fantastically but closer to sunset clouds decided to get in the way, and I didn't really get a lot of usable shots. The kids had an awesome time trekking along the beach tho :)

mmm, silky water...
ReplyDeleteBetter than my results from last night, I think I might need to stick to Breniziered Duck. :P
I like the horizon in the centre for this one. It makes a good focal point as though you are almost looking 'into' the photograph. The rocks are positioned almost as though they are leading your eyes towards the centre too. Quite mesmerising.
