Bali 2010

Jo, myself and some friends went to Bali for the first time ever last year. We didn't take a lot of photos, being way to busy having an awesome time (thanks to our excellent 'hosts', Shane, Donna, Greg and Vicki!) I guess everyone has seen Bali and what it looks like, so there's not much point sharing heaps of photos.

However, here are a few photos of Bali I'd like to share, enjoy :)

Donna and Jo organised to go to a few orphanages with a pastor over there. On the way, we went through the 'slums' and visited this family that the pastor knew. It certainly makes you appreciate the comfort we have over here!

This was their kitchen and living area, which is just hard rock. We gave this little boy some toy cars, which he happily made 'broom broom' noises with :)

The young girl in the family and I think it's her older brother. He was 19 (he looked about 12) and just sat there tying up bundles the whole time we were there.

The first of the Orphanages we went to.

And the second one. I missed out on this one, but Jo and Donna ended up teaching an English class to the girls, which was pretty cool.

It really strikes you how happy everyone there is, with so little compared to us. We could certainly learn a thing or two about contentment from them. It shows that you don't need wealth to be happy!

And here's some photos of the awesome scenery from around the island.
